Chapter 2: Waking to Calm Water

Both wolves woke up. Ha! No fluries of bubbles and wild water! Thought Tani. Every Ocean Crosser started waking up and swimming off. Now that the water was calm, the Ocean Crossers could catch fish. Tani dove down to catch fish while Kanta scanned the area. Even though Tani was becoming blind, she could sense what there is. Tani bobbed up carrying a huge fish. "Fresh salmon!" Whispered Tani. They ate it then swam off again. Both dove down to scout the waters. "Whoa! The water is wild!" Whoever is breaking the river crossing rules is going to get punishment! Said a female voice. Though it didn't sound like talking. It sounded like some psychic power. "Wow! I just heard a River Wolf!" Said Tani. "Ahh!!" Screamed a black wolf. "Hey, that black wolf is the wolf that called us Water Legs." Whispered Tani in Kanta's ear. The wild current in the river pushed them toward their destination, which was far away.

Chapter 1: Wild Water

The two wolves started swimming off. There were bunches of Ocean Crossers swimming, too. "Haha! Look at those Water Legs! Crossing the river isn't a good thing to do!" Laughed a black wolf, darting off. "I shouldn't have done this... it's such a bad thing to do." Said Kanta, starting to swim back. "Wait, Kanta! If you don't follow the rules of crossing the river, you could be behind bars!" Said Tani. "Oh, that's right." Said Kanta, trying to catch up with Tani.  "Don't listen to them! Their just trying to get us behind bars!" Said Tani. "Well, it looks like it's time to set up camp at one of those Rocky Tidepool places." Said Kanta as she and Tani walked onto land to one of the Rocky Tidepools. The only thing Ocean Crossers could use for camp was leaves, grass, twigs, branches, and sticks. Both fell asleep.

Prolouge: Training

The brown wolf with a single eye swam in the flury of bubbles, gasping for air, she came up and held her head up high to breathe, because the water was wild with splashes. Today is the Day of the Wild Waters. Thought the brown wolf. She was training to cross the giant river. Bunches of Ocean Crossers were training, too. There are a lot more crossing the river then usual. Thought the brown wolf, who didn't talk much. A white wolf swam over. "Tani, want to be partners when we cross the river?" Asked the white wolf. "What?! Kanta?! You're crossing the river too?!" Said Tani, closing her single eye for a few seconds. "Yes! I really want to cross the river and become a River Wolf!" Said Kanta in a cheery voice. "Alright, we can be partners, after training, food, and a nap. We need to get prepared." Said Tani, diving and touching the bottom of the five-foot deep area. Tani did a back flip in the water when she came up. Kanta touched the bottom and did the same. "Alright. After food and a short nap, we can go." Said Tani. "Why a short nap?" Questioned Kanta. "Because it's getting late, and only this day every year, Ocean Crossers start the journey." Replied Tani.
Then they ate and took a short nap. "Alright, let's start." Said Kanta, happily.
